POSITION: WCMHS is actively seeking a Jr. Accountant who will provide essential financial and administrative support for grants and contracts, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and maintaining compliance with reporting requirements. Responsibilities include tracking and reporting financial data, managing accounts payable and receivable for related parties, and processing annual 1099s. The role also supports ongoing audit preparation by reconciling assigned accounts and investigating discrepancies. This position assists in implementing new accounting initiatives and provides guidance on generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Additionally, the individual will perform ad hoc financial analysis, support AP approval processes, and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the finance team.

QUALIFICATIONS: The preferred combination of education and relevant experience for this position includes:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Or two or more years of relevant accounting experience
Additional requirements for this position include:
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in accounting software (Sage Intacct preferred), payroll software (Paycom preferred), and Microsoft Office products, with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and productively with internal and external partners.
  • Understanding of and commitment to advancing the WCMHS mission and supporting the provision of collaborative and inclusive mental health, development disability, and substance use services.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: This full-time exempt position offers an hourly rate of $29.86/hr and excellent benefits, including tuition reimbursement/student loan assistance; generous paid time off; employer-sponsored health, dental, life, and disability insurances; and a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match.
